Feminist Class Struggle
Order Description
We will assess academic selections by noting the claim, evidence, and conclusions as presented by the author. An analysis is a form of academic writing which
highlights the main ideas introduced by any author. The objective is to identify the major ideas by highlighting information and arguments presented. Thus, a
successful analysis will identify the author’s argument, evidence and conclusions. This approach requires the writer to refrain from personal analysis, and evaluation.
Developing an annotated bibliography requires considerable understanding and engagement with the text.
Your opening paragraph identifes the purpose; why is the author writing this article? Seek out the author’s reasoning not your personal guess. Extrapolating the
purpose requires a detailed reading of the entire article.
• The second paragraph introduces the claim or thesis; what is the author’s main argument? What point is the author trying to make?
• The third paragraph introduces the evidence employed by the author to support their claim. This takes the form of data, historical accounts, stories, studies and
other phenomena which support the author uses to support their claim.
• The fourth paragraph pinpoints the authors conclusion; how does the author conclude, based on their claim as supported by their evidence?
