There will be a written film analysis that will be worth 50 points. For this assignment you will analyze the film The Doctor based on the concepts discussed in class regarding health communication, and patient-provider communication more specifically. Possible questions to answer may include (among others): What aspects of the course are evident in this film? How do the experiences of the characters relate to what we have learned? How can you summarize the experience of the protagonist in terms of what we have discussed in class? Do you agree with how the film represents interactions between patients and healthcare providers? Why or why not? Be sure to use several course concepts in your analysis as they are discussed in the textbook. The paper should be 2-4 pages in length. See the grading criteria below for how this assignment will be evaluated.
Paper structure. Papers should be typed in 12-point Times New Roman font and double spaced using 1-inch margins and following 6th edition APA guidelines. Papers are due at the beginning of class in hard copy form (i.e., emailed versions of papers and late assignments will NOT be accepted). When necessary, you should include a title page and/or reference page that follows APA format.
