Read a few first person accounts written by people who have mental illnesses. When you think you have enough examples of how people in recovery achieved the three goals of psychiatric rehabilitation (Community Integration, Recovery, Quality of Life), write a two-page essay, using APA format that discusses their experiences relative to each of the goals.
Use three section headings in your paper – one for each of the three goals. Discuss each goal one at a time. Please do not simply summarize the stories. Think critically about how the experiences reflect barriers to the 3 goals and also how people have overcome those barriers. Be prepared to discuss your essay in class.
