Read the article Free Press vs. Free Speech? The Rhetoric of “Civility” in Regard to Anonymous Online Comments posted under “Readings”. After reading the article, consider the following: a. What do we as a society gain by allowing anonymous comments online? b. What are the negative consequences of allowing anonymous comments online? c. This article mostly focuses on news story comments, but can you think of another place where you have encountered anonymous rude or racist comments? How did you respond? d. Prepare and post a blog entry (Blog Post #3) discussing the ethical implications of anonymous posting and commenting. Your post should be 500-750 words and include a photo or video. The photo/video needs to align with the message of your post (not just an afterthought). It should be place strategically within the post (not just at the beginning or the end) and consider using the “left”, “right”, “center” commands to place the image in an aesthetically pleasing location for your readers.
