Format To Follow
Brief Introduction (1-1.5 pages)
Start out with your research question.
Include a very brief discussion on the issues surrounding the incarceration of women.
Body (2-2.5 pages)
Explanation of the relevance of the research question & topic and what you are attempting to show with the research conducted.
Include information about the research topic are you are attempting to address – length, extent, who is affected & why?
Indicate the scope of the research topic by showing the impact of the problem – include statistics. Incarceration rates/arrest rates/recidivism rates/crime rates/victimization rates that have some direct correlation to your research topic
Include other attempts at addressing the problem/issue related to your research topic. (failed attempts and successful attempts should be addressed) This would be a good place to include some analysis on gendered responses to female criminality/incarceration
What does your research show? (You should attempt to analyze the research – don’t just include what authors are saying – explain it in terms of how it relates to your research question)
Brief Closing: (1-1.5 pages)

Remember to do the following while writing your paper:
Constantly refer back to your research question & topic – make sure you are answering your research question throughout your paper.
Connect the ideas from one section to another and ensure your ideas flow from paragraph to paragraph – sentence to sentence.
Make sure you use proper wording and that grammar issues have been corrected
Make sure to include relevant material and connect the dots from sentence to sentence and paragraph to paragraph
Make sure your ideas flow logically
Use an outline if needed
Break your paper into sections
