One of the challenges of being a student of crime and the criminal justice system is putting aside personal bias on important social issues in order to better
understand causes and effects of criminal behavior. A lot has been made in recent years on policies related to gun control. Pretend for a moment that you have been
assigned by the President to head up a task force committed to exploring ways to reduce gun violence in the United States. Based on the readings to-date, as well as

what would be your recommendations on how we handle this very complex social problem? Part of your position should focus on the role of gun control policy in reducing
gun crimes, some of your theoretical understanding of why people commit crimes, and why you do or don’t support increases upon such controls.
