Order Description
For your first paper of this independent study, select and research a single form of hazardous material that has been used as a weapon. Namely, choose a chemical, biological, radiological, energetic, or nuclear weapon that has been released intentionally.
Some Hazmats include Salmonella, Phosgene, VX, CN, Anthrax, dirty bombs containing radioactive material and Cyanide. There is an endless list of possibilities. Do not necessarily select one of the above mentioned, however, they are offered as examples of substances already utilized with deadly consequences.
In your paper, be sure to include the chemical and physical properties of the material, intended commercial usage of the substance when produced, the method of dispersal selected and describe how the material is stored and how it behaves under normal, atmospheric conditions. The paper should be 5 pages in length at minimum and is due in 2 weeks.
Note: Demonstrate an understanding of how and why chemical and physical properties of hazardous materials are so crucial in determining how they can cause harm when people and other living things become exposed.
To that end, be sure to define the following terms when appropriate:
1. Volatility
2. Vapor Pressure
3. Vapor Density
4. Persistence
5. Specific Gravity
Explain how a substance?s toxicity is increased exponentially, at times, by the preceding chemical and physical properties. Please realize the preceding is not an all inclusive list. These are just some of the characteristics of some substances that make them harmful and deadly.
