Your job in the forum is to connect, carefully and specifically, Coates’ writing to the case of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women in Canada. There are many ways you can go with this. Try to use the concepts we have been developing throughout this term, including from Chapters 5 and 12 from the readings Here are some themes you could highlight:

The connections between everyday discourse and representations (of Black men in America and Indigenous women in Canada) to the disproportionate deaths and imprisonment of these bodies, ad lack of accountability. How do specific words and practices (name them) create the context for killing some bodies (and not others)?

What efforts do the author (Coates) and the panel speakers make to humanize victims of racialized violence? Why?
