From the scenario, identify at least two (2) causes of the Great Depression. Discuss whether or not you believe that the federal response to the Depression encouraged economic growth and confidence. Provide a rationale for your response.

In the upcoming presidential election, Democrats support more government spending in the economy while the Republicans argue that the government cannot keep spending endlessly and should stop. What are the similarities and differences in FDR’s New Deal programs and those today? In your opinion, when is the point you think the federal govt should stop spending?
