The Revolution, part 2

Since we already know the outcome of the American Revolution, it is easy to assume that independence was the best choice or even the only option. However, there was

considerable debate and disagreement among American colonists. Just like today, many people didn’t care at all about politics, and those who did had many different

approaches. Remember, the Revolutionaries were radicals. They wanted to overthrow the government and establish a new one. That was a bold position then, as it would be

today!

Examine all of the assigned chapters and documents, as well as the Power Point(s) in the folder. It may be helpful to consider the following:

* What do Smith and Buettner’s accounts tell us about Revolutionary War soldiers?

What was life as a soldier like? What were their motivations?
How do these accounts shape your understanding of this period in history?

*How do the other authors understand freedom and liberty within the Revolutionary moment?

*What rights are the authors asking for (or demanding)?

*What do these documents tell us about the class, gender, and racial structures at the time and their influence on power?

Order from us and get better grades. We are the service you have been looking for.
