how the technology focus more on the artists that create the music and the environments in which we listen to music?. What has changed about how artists make music because of a particular technology from the 20th/21st century? What has changed about the audience because of that technology? Think about the different places we hear music and how that is different than it would have been two centuries ago.

Give an example from the Classical side of things: The violin was developed in the 1500s and 1600s (at the time, a new technology). As the instrument grew in popularity, so did the popularity of writing for the instrument in groups grow. This eventually led to the formation of the orchestra, and the popularity of the orchestra. The popularity of the orchestra led to symphonic, operatic, and religious music (Masses and Oratorios for example) forms that are accompanied by or played by an orchestra instead of just an instrument or small group of instruments. As the orchestra grew in popularity, cities built concert halls for them to play in (eventually even halls like the Walt Disney Concert Hall in LA). During this growth, composers have been writing for larger and larger groups-dozens, sometimes even hundreds of musicians playing one piece. This also led to a change in the audience-instead of hearing small pieces in small halls and churches, we have grown accustomed to hearing large works with large audiences in large halls. Much of this started with one family sitting down and carving wood into violins.
