Task Description:
You will be asked to conduct a ten to fifteen minute interview, do a five to seven minute powerpoint presentation about the interview in class, and write up your presentation as a short essay.
You will be assigned to a partner for this project. Each student will interview their partner for about 10 to 15 minutes, selecting from the suggested questions below, or adding your own questions on an intercultural communication topic from the weekly topics for this course. You should audio or video your interviews rather than taking notes. After the interview, listen to the recording, and then consider how this relates to the intercultural issues in the course. Transcribe selected pieces of the interview, and incorportate the ideas into your oral presentation.
In class you will be asked to present your findings in a five minute talk. You should talk about your interviewee’s background (but don’t use their real name), and then share some of your data, themes and findings.
