From an HR perspective, perhaps one flipside of this week’s readings would be the employment of foreign nationals in this country. How would the proposed immigration reform bill, now being considered by the US Congress, impact the work of HR professionals? How would it impact your organization or industry (or one you are interested in)? Do you know what is in the current proposal that reportedly has (some) bipartisan support and the President’s approval?
Research the current bill, summarize the key proposals, and discuss how you think that this bill, if passed, will impact a). the US in general, and b) the work you or HR professionals in your organization, your industry, (or one you are intersted in) will be doing in the future.
