DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT
Your task in this assessment is to write a simple overview of what you think a marketer does. It should be approximately 500 words in length.
The point of the exercise is not to test your knowledge of marketing but its purpose is to provide students with an At Risk Assessment. The point of an At Risk Assessment is to give students an early assessment with feedback to identify students who are at risk of not achieving a pass in the unit. This assessment will
allow your tutor to work with you and provide early feedback that you can take on board for later assignments. If necessary you may be referred to the Academic Support and Development centre on your campus for further help.
It is expected that you will cite at least 3 references using the Harvard Referencing System (if you are not familiar with this system, simply put “Harvard Referencing System” into a search engine).
As a key aim of this task is for tutors to see the strengths and possible areas of improvement with your academic writing, you should strive to write in as clear a manner as possible, using well constructed paragraphs, and avoiding bullet points, incomplete sentences, or overly formal or informal language.

If you don’t, you will most likely run into some difficulties in completing your assignments and being successful in your studies.
It is also recommended that students attend the Reading & Assignment Skills Workshops for Introduction to Marketing (BHO1171) (from week 3) at • City Flinders: Mondays 1pm-2pm (Room FS906) • Footscray Park: Thursdays 2pm-3pm (Room P302). For students not based in Melbourne please see your local lecturer/tutor for your contact details of the language support team at your local campus.
For most students, study at university involves a lot of work and can be a big challenge. However, it has many rewards. There are a number of resources that you can access to help you to improve skills so that you not only pass, but get the best possible grades.
