10.1 Case Study: Google Weekly Objective: Conduct as case study analysis of a large internet-based company.  Using the Case Study analysis guidelines, research, analyze, and discuss the key characters, organizational/situational facts, cause/effect, organizational opportunities, and your recommendations to the CEO of Google.
Case Study Analysis Requirements:
Executive Summary – This section must provide a brief summary of the case study scenario; the key factors used in your analysis, the cause of the problems, viable opportunities, and your recommendations for future actions.  Be brief, but complete.  This section is similar to the abstract that you find in academic studies.  It is intended to provide executives with a brief summary of the case study analysis.  You do not need to cite any references in this section.
Key Characters – This section must describe the key characters in the company/situation, their formal relationships to each other, and their positive and negative interactions.  This section must cite your textbook and/or other references that provided organizational facts.
Organizational Facts – This section must describe the nature of the organization, its location(s), form of business, number of employees, divisions, key products and service, industry, and any other key information that paints and accurate image of the organization.  This section must cite your textbook and/or other references that provided organizational facts.
Situational Facts – This section must describe the situation that requires analysis, the symptoms, not the cause.  This section must cite your textbook and/or other references that provided organizational facts.
Cause-Effect – This section must describe your analyzed cause(s) of each of the symptoms listed in the situational facts section.  This section must cite your textbook and/or other references that provided organizational facts.
Opportunities – This section must describe each of the opportunities for organizational improvement, to include those that solve a previously defined problem, and those that may provide new opportunities for the organization.  Be sure to address the cost of the references that were used to help you determine what you believe are the opportunities for improvement.  This section must cite all references that were used to  help you determine what you believe are the opportunities for improvement.
Recommendations – This section must contain your advise to the CEO of the organization, for actions to guide the organization to new levels of opportunity and profits.  This section must cite your textbook and/or other references that provided organizational facts.  This section must cite all references that were used to help you develop your recommendations.
References – This section must list all sources of information, in APA 6.0 format, that helped you complete the case study.  At minimum, this would include your textbook, scholarly studies, articles, and books that were used as a source of information for any of the preceding sections.
