The examination consists of THREE SECTIONS (I, II, III). All three Sections must be

Answer ALL SIX of the short essay questions (including any subparts). This is a longer essay question. You MUST attempt this question.
Here you must attempt ONLY ONE of five longer essay questions.
6. 180 points are available in this examination. Those points are allocated between the sections as follows:
SECTION I: 60 points (10 points for each question)
SECTION II: 60 points
SECTION III: 60 points
Your answers should be typed on 81/2 x 11 paper. Your answers should be double spaced with margins of at least 1″ on each side and at the top and bottom of each page. A font size of no smaller than 12 point should be used. Please use Times New Roman (the font you are now reading).
Your answer to Section I (i.e., for all six questions) should not exceed 6 pages. Your answer to Section II should not exceed 6 pages.
Your answer to Section III should not exceed 6 pages.
THUS, YOUR ENTIRE EXAM SHOULD NOT EXCEED 18 PAGES!
These page limits are maximums. Do not feel the need to write answers that are as long as the maximum length.
8. This examination is designed to be answered in 3 hours, with time devoted to each Section in rough proportion to the points available for that Section. Given that you can take the exam home over a lengthy period, you will probably spend longer than 3 hours on the exam. But do not spend much longer than that on the examination; your other exams and papers are important also, and you should allocate your study time as you would for any three-hour exam. In particular, this is NOT a research exercise. The exam is intended to enable you to display your knowledge and understanding of the material discussed in class or assigned as reading.
In writing the examination, you should fully attribute the use of another’s ideas or language.
Do not put your name anywhere on your answers, but once again please make sure that your correct anonymous Exam ID# is marked in bold font on top of the first page of your exam and on the top of every succeeding page.

SIX SHORT ESSAY QUESTIONS
Please provide short essay answers to the following SIX questions. Remember, this series of questions was designed to be answered in one hour (allowing about 10 minutes per question). Remember also that the page limit for the ENTIRE set of six questions is SIX PAGES. These six pages must be double spaced with margins of at least 1″ on each side and at the top and bottom of each page. A font size of no smaller than 12 point should be used. Some of the questions will clearly require longer answers than others.
