Internship(criminal justice) reflection paper

Each intern must complete a brief paper (no less than 5 pages) commenting critically on the internship experience. The paper is not a summary of the assignments that the intern has completed. It is rather an opportunity to reflect and comment on the internship as a member of the public safety professional community. Interns should approach this assignment as their first “consulting job” and provide candid assessments about the mission, efficiency and operations of the host agency. The Reflection Paper will be confidential -it will not be shared with your internship supervisor. Professor Clark and O’Connor will be the only individuals who read it -so feel free to be very frank in your assessment. Past experience states that the paper, to be effective, should be approximately 5 pages or more. The paper should consist of the following:
** Section 1 – Introduce yourself and your internship. What is the mission statement of the organization? Quote it directly
** Section 2 – Identify what your organization does well to meet the goals of the Mission Statement – what do they do successfully? How do they do it?
** Section 3 – What can your organization do to improve? As UNH students you are on the cutting edge of new ideas and programs. You may be working with employees who have not changed in 20 years. Identify and explain how they can improve.
** Section 4 – Reflect on your internship. Is it what you expected? Did it change your career aspirations? Did it reinforce you are headed in the right direction? Explain your thoughts on this.
