Each entry should (1) either briefly quote or summarize one passage in one (or more) assigned text for that day and (2) record your own reflections on the reading. Each entry should engage the ideas of the text in some direct and thoughtful way.
Each journal entry should be relatively brief (approximately 250 words and no more than two or three well constructed, thoughtful paragraphs written in complete, grammatically correct sentences). Your entries should demonstrate that you have read and reflected about the course materials. You might use one of the posted discussion questions as a starting point. High-quality entries advance our learning process by making connections to course themes or previous comments, demonstrating insight and creativity, answering or posing helpful questions, and/or presenting persuasive arguments. Also, please feel free to raise questions or ask for clarification in your journal entries.
