Bibliographical Citation — Proper Citation Format
Book Summary — Clearly describes the argument and conclusions of the text. Shows good understanding of relevant main point and avoids extraneous detail.
Identification of Main Thesis — Clearly indentifies and critically evaluates the authors central argument, purpose, and approach to the subject.
Analysis of Work — A general analysis of salient features of the book as opposed to a general summary, and indentifies the development of the authors thesis throughout the book.
Spelling and Grammar — Language is clearly orgnaized. Correct word usage, punctuation, sentence structure, and grammar; minimal to spelling erros; absolutely no run-on sentences or comma splices. Evident that proof-reading has occured prior to submission.
Questions to ask yourself during the ANALYSIS OF WORK:
-Did the author prove the main thesis?
-Was this book effective?
-What kinds of sources were used in writing the book?
-Is this a good work to use for this history course?
