Knowledge and reality

Paper details:
In 150 – 200 of your own words, please clearly explain a Gettier-style counterexample to the traditional tripartite theory of knowledge. This may be one of Gettier’s original counterexamples (such as the Smith and Jones example), or one you have met elsewhere (such as the NPC final case from the workbook that is adapted from Dancy 1985). If you find it makes it easier for you to explain, it could even be a case of your own design, but you will only be marked on how well you explain the case.

In writing your answer, you can assume that your marker knows both the detail and the background of the tripartite theory. Your job is to explain how the counterexample works and what it shows.

The focus here should be on explaining things as clearly as you can – there is no evaluative component to this question.
