Developing leadership skills requires not only knowing what leaders do, but also understanding your own skills and getting the opportunity to practise them. Over the course of this unit, you have participated in reflections, Learning group and small team activities that have allowed you to consider, experience, and/or develop various leadership skills. In this final assessment, you will produce a reflection on key learnings you have taken from your learning and experience in this unit to provide insights into your own leadership skills.
This assessment requires you to produce a 2000 word reflective essay. In order to prepare for this reflection, it is essential that you participate in online discussion activities. It is recommended that you keep a record (e.g. a weekly diary or learning journal) of your experiences and observations. You can then draw on this information to identify key learnings relevant to you and your own leadership skills. Within your reflective essay, you must include:
what you have learnt about the theories and concepts of leadership from your participation and interactions with others in the Learning group what you have learnt about your own leadership skills, and how this unit has, or may in the future, support the further development of these skills how the points of reflection chosen are supported by the literature.
Use Rofle et al.’s reflective model of What? So what? What next? (2001) to frame your approach to your reflective writing.

1. Personal connection. 2. Knowledge and understanding. 3. Depth and breadth. 4. Academic expression.
