Preparation:
View the video Creating a Project located in the Student videos on the SAM login page.

Hints:
When you open a Project, you are to click on Download for the Instruction File, the Start File Template, and any Resource files. In most cases, each file will download to the Downloads folder on your computer. Select each file from the Downloads folder to continue.
Instruction File – You do not need to save this file. You can print it from this screen.
Start File Template – You must save this file using the SAVE AS command. The file name is given in the Instruction File. You will save the file with the same file name except that you change the “1” to “2” in the file name. Create a folder on your computer and save all your SAM Project files to this folder so you will know where to look for them when needed.
Don’t be confused about the parentheses with a number 1 in the file name at the bottom of the original document when you have to change the file name from “1” to “2”. The number in parentheses is the number of attempts you are on. If you start a second attempt, the number in the parentheses will be 2. Do not change the number in the parentheses.
Resource File(s) – Use the same procedure to save these files to your computer as you did for the Start File Templates except that you will not have to change the file name. Save to your SAM Projects folder.
After you complete your first attempt on the Project and submit it, you can either accept that grade or make a second attempt. Before you begin your second attempt, review your grade report on the Project. It will tell you all your errors and also provide reinforcement Training exercises for you to review so you will know how to do the commands you made errors on. The second attempt will be on the same Project, but you must start from the beginning again and do the entire Project again. You may not just make corrections on your original attempt.
Submitting Your Assignment:
Even though this assignment will be created and graded in SAM, you are to also submit each of your completed SAM files attempts to the course by attaching them to this Assignment page (as you did in the Textbook Chapter assignment). This will flag me that you have submitted work so that I will look for and record your grade in the course Gradebook.
Attempts:
You will have 3 attempts to complete this assignment.
All attempts (if you decide to submit more than one attempt) are due by the due date of this assignment. The highest grade will be recorded on the due date.
If you do not submit at least one attempt by the due date, you may still submit the assignment, but late penalty points will be applied for each day assignment is late.
If you want to submit more than one attempt after the due date, the highest grade will be recorded with late penalty points applied for each day late.
Grading
This assignment will be computer graded.
Your instructor will record your highest grade in the course grade book.
The computer assigns 100 points to this assignment, but the course assigns 10 points to this assignment. Therefore your course grade will be the computer grade divided by 10. All grades will be rounded up.
Late Submission Policy: One point will be deducted from your course grade for each day the assignment is posted late. If your assignment is posted more than 10 days late, it will not be accepted.
