Then analyze the how virginity is constructed according to gender this episode. What are the ways in which virginity and the prospect of “losing” one’s virginity are framed and represented for the women in the show as compared to the men? How does MTV’s Virgin Territory demonstrate how sexuality is socially constructed? Does it rely on sexual and/or romantic scripts to tell its stories? What does this say about how we conceptualize “virginity,” and sexuality more broadly, in American society today?
