There has been a tremendous amount of growth in Wake County over the past thirty years. Wake County has seen historic growths in incomes, housing, population, and students. Estimates from the U.S Census Bureau show that from 1980 through 2010 Wake County grew by approximately 600,000. The County added nearly 275,000 from 2000 to 2010. Since April 1, 2010, Wake County has 73,296 additional residents. This is an increase by 8.1%. As of July 1. 2013 the estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau shows that Wake County has 974,289 residents.
