In view of the outcomes of the survey that was carried out, it is evident that most people
prefer to use bicycles that have decent features which make it is possible for them to ride
smoothly. This is evidenced by the higher percentage of responses witnessed in those who use
and or would wish to hybrid bicycles in preference to mountain bikes and road bikes in that
order. Further, it is also evident that most of the riders use or depend on cell-phones for
communication while on their journey. Thus, they would recommend the development of new
bicycles with the capacity to charge. Besides, installation of rear cameras also achieved
overwhelming support in order to reduce near accident encounters. Also, the GPS tracker device
enabling received a higher preference due to the fact that it would help cyclists to trace their
routes effectively to their destination. Further, the move is promoted by the stance that about 80
percent of the respondents affirmed that they a willing to pay more for the improved bicycle
variety.
Chart Analysis
As shown below the majority of the respondents at 77% were frequent users of bicycle.
Therefore, the sample consisted of a great percentage of people who were knowledgeable and
had dependable experience with bicycles. Their perceptions were thus fit and valid for the
survey.
On the other hand, on the expectation of features to be added to the new proposed bicycle, the
following results were achieved. 26 respondents (87%) voted for inclusion of a charging system
to help them with charging of their electronic devices on board. Further, 23 respondents (77%)
wished to have rear cameras to help them have a constant and ready view of objects behind them
without the need to turn back their head. Besides, 53% of the respondents wished to have the
rims of the new bikes enabled with the capability to produce bright light during the night to
ensure that they remain visible to all other motorists all the time during night periods. Moreover,
the installation of GPS tracker on the proposed bike is also a viable feature. It garnered interest
from 67% of the respondents. Nonetheless, it eventually emerged that 67% of the respondents
wished to have all the three features above included.
Nevertheless it was also evident that 80% of the respondents are ready and willing to use the new design bike that contains the proposed features.
