Narrative Discussion: Choose one of the essays you read this week (by Barry, Murray, or Mayblum) from The Longman Reader and discuss some of the narrative strategies the author used in telling of his or her story. How did those techniques (such as dialogue, detailed description, an intriguing introduction, a unique tone or point of view, etc.) operate on the story? What emotion do you think the author intended to evoke from his or her readers?
