Need an Essay /English

 submit an essay of 1,750 words in response to one of the following questions:

Q1)   Articles 3-5 of the UNDRIP clearly express   Indigenous Peoples right to self-determination. What is this right, and what were/are the main arguments for and against granting Indigenous peoples this right?  What are the challenges to expressing this right in the Australian context?

 

Q2) If Australia were to have a treaty with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, what are the fundamental issues it would have to deal with? How would such a treaty deal with the aim of Indigenous self-determination in modern Australia? Use international examples to strengthen your argument.

 

Q3)   In international law how is the crime of genocide defined? With reference to Article 8 of the UNDRIP, The Genocide Convention and The Bringing Them Home Report, analyse how international law has impacted on our understandings of past and present treatment of Indigenous Peoples in Australia.

Q4)   Section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act makes it illegal to “offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate another person or a group of people” based on “race, colour or national or ethnic origin” of the person or group. What are the main arguments for and against reform of Section 18C? Would such reform result in greater freedom of speech or greater levels of hate speech? Discuss.
