The image below shows a brain with a subdural hematoma.
- What view of the brain are we looking at (how is it sliced)? How do you know?
The image above is showing a horizontal sliced
- Describe the location of the blood. Be as specific as possible based on all information we’ve covered to date. Remember that this is subdural, so include a description of what that means.
- Which lobes of the brain might be impacted by the hematoma? (You can’t be certain without looking at other levels.)
- What other changes in anatomy are evident and why?
- What are the possible functional impacts? (We’ve only discussed function broadly, so your answer can be broad.)
The next picture is an epidural hematoma.
- What view of the brain are you looking at? How do you know?
This view of the brain would be considered a coronal plane view. I know this because this divides the brain into front and back parts.
- Describe the location of the blood.
