non-parametric techniques in R

This week we are going to revisit the “RichRats” and “Weight” problems but using the appropriate non-parametric techniques (the Mann-Whitney  and Wilcoxin tests) to do the analyses.  Remember, “RichRats” is a repeated measures design and “Weight” is an independent groups design.

For each problem provide the following information in a text file submitted to the  homework dropbox for this week:

1) The research question under consideration

2) a non directional null and alternative hypothesis pair

3) The results of your “R” analysis (cut and paste the results into the text file)

4) your decision  and an explanation of how the decision is supported by your “R” results.

5) A statement of the meaning of your decision in relation to the research hypothesis.

“RichRats” and “Weight” data sets are in the data folder of the Course Resources module.
