Payday and Holiday Issues

As AHC(imaginary facility) added facilities to its group, differences in how employees were to be paid began to emerge. Some facilities used the 1st and 15th as paydays. Some did not. Some paid exempt employees on the last day of the month, some on the last working day of the month (not always the same day). Holidays also varied, with some facilities giving “personal days” and one granted “birthday”.

We would like your input as we rework the payday and holiday issues. Based on Texas state labor laws, Please prepare you written recommendation on the following issues and submit it to the Chief Training Officer.

What should AHC establish as paydays for exempt and non-exempt employees?

  • What holidays should ACH recognize for all its employees?
