Attention Doctoral Learners,
The College of Doctoral Studies is pleased to introduce a new and improved Prospectus Template for use in Residency, and applicable research courses. Developing a
viable research prospectus as the foundation for your dissertation is critical step in the dissertation process, and this updated template is designed to help you
succeed in this endeavor.
What’s New:
• Builds directly on the 10 Strategic Points from the Residency and Research Courses.
• Emphasizes the development of the theoretical foundation and review of literature as the foundation and need for the study
• Uses the same criteria that are found in the Proposal and Dissertation templates.
• Contains a narrative overview of what should be included in the section and a table with the specific evaluation criteria for that section, allowing for
structured evaluation of overall quality and feasibility of the proposed study
• Updates to the qualitative and quantitative data collection plan tables to illustrate clear alignment of problem/purpose statements, research
questions/hypotheses, data collection plan, data analysis.
• Shortens the length of the Prospectus to 6-10 pages
• Links each section of the Prospectus to the Proposal Template
Who Should Use the New Template?
• For doctoral learners who already have an approved research prospectus approved there is no requirement to change to this new template.
• For doctoral learners who are currently developing a prospectus, work directly with your chair to determine if changing to the new prospectus template will be
beneficial in helping you complete this milestone.
• For doctoral learners attending 2014 Residencies and starting RES 862, RES 871, PSY 850 courses in March/April 2014 use the updated Prospectus Template

Right now the objective by April 15, 2017 is to complete the ten point strategy and the prospectus. Once this is approve through the board we can then begin to work
the details for the proposal and dissertation.

In addition, this would include revisions more than 30 days until everything is approved by the Grand Canyon University Dissertation Board. We will be having back and
forth feeback from the chair and material expert until approved. This Advanced Research Design Course will begin April 15 thru June 15. I should have a product of
deliverables by April 16 so the board can review these deliverables. The deliverables are the 10 Point Strategy and the Prospectus. In the interim PhDDissertation
and myself from now through April 15 will be brainstorming and developing the 10 Point Strategy and Prospectus to have a good product by April 15 and in so forth
continue the review, writing, editing, and response to the Board until June 15, 2017 with the expectation to close ranks or align with approval with the board by May
30, 2017 for approval of the 10 Point Strategy and Prospectus.

In so forth, attachment 6 they told me to keep my primary journal as the direction of the dissertation that I will be performing my study around. Then if I am to
change anything such as my data information then I must obtain another article to justify my change. For the changing let say my data population then I must have a
justification via another article and build around my primary journal article.

I would also like to use archived data for this project to be more efficient and expedious. I would like to use the 10 Point Strategy we have now with some
modifications but to use archived public data. Please insert that into the package.
In addition, I need to see/understand your product deliverables (i.e. write the dissertation, edit, proofread, statistics), schedules, payment methods, and
understanding of your agreement. I believe you have unlimited review period. I need to understand this issue.
As you know the process of performing a dissertation at Grand Canyon University goes through an Academic Quality Review Process. Here are the steps:

*Let say for example I will begin my three course – Advance Research Design, Dissertation II, and Dissertation III. My schedule will be the following:

*Advance Research Design – Insertion of 10 Point Strategy and Proposal to the Chair Board – Comment Come Back

Must get approved once me and PhD dissertation obtain approval

*Dissertation II – June – Insertion of Chapter 1,2,3. Chair Board review for comments. They comment we fix.

*Dissertation III – Chapter 4, 5, and 6. Chair Board review for comments. They comment we fix. Finalize Paper.
* In particular I need to understand your review periods. The concern is we would like to spread out the review period to include review period or more.

* We have another review period to perform our comments and reply for finalization.
*We have another review period to perform our comments and reply for finalization and we complete dissertation

*The review period should be spread out to meet the demands of the chair and committee of Grand Canyon University review process.

* My word limit will be approximately 80,000 words.

*In so forth we must see your contract agreements and review periods.

In further review of this project we must take a phased approach. It appears that I will have to insert my 10 Point Strategy and Prospectus. Thus it may be that the
Grand Canyon University approach would like to ask questions/comments/insertions to the direction of the dissertation. Most importantly this phase of inserting a 10
Point Strategy and Prospectus insertion is required during the initial phase of the dissertation and is paramount to continue the project. Once this 10 Point
Strategy and Prospectus is established and concurred by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the Academic Quality Review (AQR) we are okay to move forward on our
proposal/ dissertation project and complete the project.
I think I want to piece meal this issue with the 10 Point Strategy and the Prospectus, obtain approval and then move foward.
At this point I need the following in Phase 1:
* Editing and Improving my 10 Point Strategy Reviewed
* Prospectus – 6 to 10 pages

In Phase 2 – I will need the following:

* Once everything gets approved – The Proposal or Dissertation

You reviewed my 10-point-plan and it is a good start. What I have appears to be a structural equation model (SEM). The literature has some questionnaires that can be
adopted for my study. I will not be working on a design measurement from scratch trust me.

As I noted in our conversation, we would start with working on my design and methods chapter (typically the Chapter 3). Then after my proposal is approved and I
collect the data, we would work on the actual analyses and reporting of the Results chapter (typically, Chapter 4).

SEM is a process of statistics, because there are measurement tools to validate, usually with a pilot study and then again with the main study. Also, in SEM there is a
hypothesized model (the path model in your diagram) and then test and re-test to find a model with good fit. And in your case it is a good way to go. Do you do these
types of methods of ststiatics?

Such that I need to understand:

The fee for assistance with the methods for the chapters. The fee would include definition of the hypotheses, operationalization of the variables to be used, and of
course the tests to be performed. You would also have to help me find measurement tools, of if we had to, we would design one…but that is if we HAVE to. I would also
analyze the pilot study data for you to see how the tool(s) for initial construct validity checks if needed. The fee should include a written Methods chapter in APA
format, content edits to the chapter to address reviewer(s) revisions, and consulting as needed so you will understand the plan for your study.

* The program at Grand Canyon University consists as follows:
* Initial Phase:
1) 10 Point Strategy
2) Prospectus it is initially an outline for Chapters 1 thru Chapters 3.
This will be the first phase of the dissertation where approvals are required. I will need approvals.
We will being going back and forth with the chair and the material expert.

** The first phase will be the the following:

* Phase 2:
** Editing and Improving my 10 Point Strategy Reviewed
** Prospectus – 6 to 10 pages –
6 pages – What is the Cost?
8 pages – What is the Cost?
10 pages – What is the Cost?

My course in Phase 2 will be Advanced Research Design and will need to be inserted. There is an 8 week course on this program where we will hash out our differences
with the board. There will be feedback from the teachers on my project and will need some editing during this time. We may also need to begin to attain 60 references
at this time. We will need six references that are not older than 5 years from the date of 2017. We will be going back and forth with the chair and the material
expert.

* Phase 3:

** In Phase 3 there will be Dissertation I and Dissertation II courses.
The Dissertation I course will begin on June 15 thru August 15. In Dissertation I we will begin expanding our program with the proposal and literature review being
about 30 pages for Chapter 1, 2, and 3. The literature review will be required and have 10 reference citations that are not older than 5 years old. We will be
going back and forth with the chair and the material expert.

**Dissertation II course. In this area of Dissertation II we will look at expanding methodology, limitations, and resolution. Chapter 4, 5, and 6. This will end the
dissertation at about 200 pages. We will be going back and forth with the chair and the material expert.

**The Proposal or Dissertation – This will be approximately 300 pages with 300 words per page?
