Organ transplantation generates a large amount of ethical discussion for a variety of reasons. There are not enough organs available for transplantation in the United States. The waiting lists to receive organs are long and patients die waiting. With a limited supply of organs available to meet the demand, the ethical dilemma is how to determine who should receive an organ. what are your thoughts about this major ethical issue (e.g. Would allowing for payment or organs alleviate the shortage and what other issues would that practice raise?).
