Origin of impairment-government policies

Answers must be typed and double-spaced in a standard 12-point font (e.g., Times or Times New Roman) with 1″ margins. Your answers should draw on the course readings and discussions. You must cite all quotes and paraphrases from the readings (e.g., Longmore, 95).

Part I: Essay 1 (50% of grade-~1,000 words or more)

Was there a common “disability experience” during the twentieth century? That is, did people with disabilities share similar experiences, despite having different types and origins of impairments-enough to have a “disability culture”? Why or why not?
Your answer should consider factors such as type of impairment, origin of impairment, government policies, and daily life (i.e., work and education), as well as change over time and “disability culture” as will be discussed in class this coming week. Support your answer with specific examples from the readings and discussions.
