Re-read “Iron Bonding” and think about how a particular group that you are a part of communicates. The group could be as simple as a group of women, students, friends, family members, religious group, band members, tribe members, or co-workers. Some groups use jargon or slang. Other groups rely heavily on body language.
Think of a group that you are a member of.
1. In what ways do you communicate with this particular group?
2. How does this form of communication bond the group?
Also, think about “Just Walk on By” and the stereotypes that are associated with different groups.
1. What stereotypes are associated with the group that you are a part of?
2. Do any of these stereotypes hold true?
