Persuasion in the Real World Directions

Persuasion in the Real World Directions: After practicing your understanding of persuasion and persuasive tactics, you will demonstrate your understanding by finding real world examples of persuasion. Then, you will create your own advertisement to persuade an audience. For your project, use PowerPoint, Prezi, or another presentation method approved by your teacher. If you use Prezi, videos can easily inserted into your presentation. Steps to Completion: Step 1: Find three advertisements (preferably a video advertisement) that demonstrate the three different persuasive tactics coined by Aristotle. Insert these videos or links into the presentation. Step 2: For each advertisement, provide a specific explanation as to how this particular advertisement reveals the persuasive tactic you are providing an example for. Each explanation must be at least five sentences. Step 3: Create your own advertisement for a product that has not been invented. Your creation can be a video, drawing, or other creative method approved by your teacher. Make sure to be as creative and persuasive as possible and use as many persuasive tactics as possible for the highest grade. Step 4: Along with your advertisement, explain what persuasive tactics you are using and how using these tactics will persuade your target audience. The explanation must be at least ten sentences. Step 5: Submit a word processing document with a link to your Prezi presentation or the file to your presentation when complete.
