Introduction: For this final piece of writing, you will adapt the argument you presented in your Persuasive Essay for an online audience. You will create a multimedia piece that presents your argument using a genre, platform, and format that is appropriate and effective for online consumers of information.

You might consider creating an op/ed that includes images, a listicle (list-format article), blog, or infographic. You could also consider producing a short documentary uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo, a photo journal, a Prezi presentation, or a short podcast. There are many options for presenting information in multimedia formats to share online.

You may not simply write another traditional essay. This assignment must be something different and creative.

Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to make a connection between the formal, academic writing we do in class with some of the real-world uses it has outside of the class. Most writing is done to achieve a specific goal. This project will help us practice what that may look like outside the classroom. Use your persuasive skills in another digital format.

Topic & Thesis: You will keep the same argumentative topic you used for your persuasive essay. You may make changes, but it should be the same general idea.

Requirements:

• The final draft must be posted online (but it doesn’t have to be public if you don’t want it to be).
• You may write in the first person. This assignment is less formal than our previous essays. .
