Order Description
A new Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) has been appointed to oversee policing in your local area. They are planning to make significant cuts to the overall policing budget but have pledged to make funding available to support priority areas. The PCC is seeking expert advice to identify which aspects of policing should be regarded as a priority, and therefore be excluded from the cuts to resources in other areas.
As Head of the Panel of Experts appointed to assist the new PCC, your task is to prepare a report which identifies three areas of policing which you think should be regarded as a priority. Drawing from across the module you should explain why you have chosen these particular areas, and in doing so put together a convincing case which illustrates why these aspects of policing deserve to have resources safeguarded for them.
