(Policy-Law) Implementation

The United States Foreign Corrupt Practices Act was enacted into law in 1977. Since then it has been amended twice.

1. What does the law (or policy) provide and/or what does it prohibit?
2. What was the need or perceived need for the law?
3. Who are the stakeholders who were affected, positively or negatively, by the law?
4. Analyze the law using the Strategic Triangle Analysis.

The Strategic Triangle  

• The strategy must be substantively valuable in that the organization produces things to overseers, clients, and beneficiaries at low cost in terms of money and authority,
• It must be legitimate and politically sustainable.
• It must be operationally and administratively feasible in that the authorized valuable activities can actually be accomplished

5. The law has now a long track record. Research and explain its effects and provide your own insight into the consequences of the law upon the conduct and practice of American business domestically and internationally.
