Students will be expected to submit a short paper assignment in order to meet the Title V upper division writing requirements for the course. The paper is expected to be a well thought-out and researched response to the topic:

Clearly and extensively explain the Electoral College system. How does it work? Why do we have the system? List at least 4-6 pros and cons of the Electoral College. What are your thoughts; which side do you agree with and why? Do you think we should maintain, reform, or completely do away with the existing system? Make sure to back up your statements with well-researched facts.

The papers are to be a minimum of 6-7 pages long. You will have the option of rewriting your first paper for a higher grade after initial comments and grading have been completed.
