Whats Philosophy’s task? First, argue for what you consider to be the two most central tasks of philosophy for Foucault in terms of how you can be a positive in a power relation. Be sure to connect one of those tasks to one specific aspect of ethics and incorporate curiosity and care of the self. Secondly, apply at least 3 points of the argument you have presented from Foucault to one of the Machete Season men from “Hatred of the tutsi’s”, showing how his failure to critically take up these tasks led to his destruction of the power relation with “the gang” and how this gives you an insight into how you ought to care for self in your power relations. Third, give your own argument (completely seperate from Foucault and his definitions and terms) concerning how the influence of culture, as you define it, on your understanding of true and good needs to be questioned and what is the most central virtue to develop in order to question culture’s influence well.
