-The dissertation should be double or one-and-a-half spaced, on A4 paper,Calibri 12 for text and Calibri 10 for footnote, in British English. Use one side of the paper only and number the pages. My supervisor also advise me to use the website called “Lexology” for research and want to use recent case laws. The word count limit is 8,000 to 10,000 words (from introduction to conclusion).
To improve my work and avoid the charge of ‘Unacceptable Academic Practice’ my module coordinator advise me to:
1. Paraphrase, footnote, put inverted comma on verbatim words that copy from other words [not too many, it will result in low mark as it shows the amount of the candidate original word is very little].
2. Do not copy from word to word (either from book or electronic sources).
3. Add my own views and arguments [critical analysis part-on cases; legislations; defences; proposal and measures]
4. Add more own discussion and opinions.
This is my first time doing the dissertation and I was shocked after I read the feedback from my module coordinator which mentioned I will be failed and be charged for unfair practice if I submit this work [My work is poor because I referred to lots of website and use other peoples’ view. I have no people advise me how to do and how to avoid unacceptable academic practice as my supervision has took medical leave since middle of February. The coordinator understood my circumstances and now allowed me to extend the period of submission]. I’ve do lot of research and put lots of efforts on this, I really hope I can get a good grade for my dissertation. Please have a look at my paper, I think it may be a good idea to re-do the work with references to the recent case laws, legislations and measures that I used in my paper. I would be happy if the editor can update or contact me about how he or she going to change my work so that I can fulfil the standard of academic writing-dissertation and have a plagiarism-free dissertation (originality is priority).
