Problem Solving Model-Identifying the issues
The primary objective of the paper is to focus on a problem I had in the past regarding the Internship I undertook at Walmart in my neighborhood. I was taking the internship during the winter holidays to make myself useful and to increase my chances of getting an employment opportunity after the completion of my education. During the period, the franchise I was undertaking my internship experienced loss of finances from the cashier. The invoices did not rhyme with the collected amount after sales were made. The situation saw most of the employees being fired from their position. Since I worked as financial assistance, the management also decided to relieve me of my duties.
Analyzing the Problem
However, my superior and I were also attached to a case concerning the theft. I could not disentangle myself from the situation without having to prove myself. Managers were always complaining of underperformance due to the recorded amount of finances after we had made sales. We could not purchase our ingredients to prepare our food from time to time. The management failed to pay all employees within the required timing.
Consequences
If the problem did not conclude, the franchise would close its doors, and the business would be declared bankrupt.
Dealing with the Problem
The situation influenced me to take a central role in making it possible for everyone not to be fired. I used my intuition and analyzed the situation. I found out that my superior was the one who was stealing from the cash depository machine. She had done it for two months, and people could not find out. I had to spend time analyzing the invoices and the sales for me to determine the average collected amount at the end of the day. This made me come up with the solution.
