Professional Competence

Professional Competence
Being knowledgeable, taking time to think critically, setting and working to achieve our goals, and understanding the aspects of our own ethical lens including our blind spot impacts our level of professional competency and the ethical decision-making process inside and outside of the classroom. It is thought by some that an individual, student, and/or professional that continues to learn will always be successful.

We are all lifelong learners and no matter our profession or background, professional development and/or education of any kind is essential to our success. Being aware of and having respect for the diversity around us whether it be in the classroom or in the workplace will be essential toward making ethical decisions and demonstrating professional competency.
