Emergency Outline Checklist Part II

Directions: Below is an outline of the information needed to complete your course project paper. Using the Internet and the ECPI Online Library, perform research to
find your community resources which would be available to respond to this scenario. Those students living in smaller communities may find limited resources, in which
case they would need to locate resources in surrounding areas.

To complete the outline, identify the name of your local agency and why you would call on them to respond. (e.g., Fire Department – Virginia Beach Fire Department –
called in case fire).

1. Provide for scene control (community resources)
a. Fire Department – Prince George Fire Department, Station 24
b. Hospital – Fort Washington Hospital
c. EMS – Accokeek Volunteer Fire Department/EMS 3 Waldorf
d. Police/Sheriff’s Department – Prince George County Police Department
a. SWAT – PG County SWAT “IRON Team”
b. Canine – PG County Canine Unit
c. Bomb Tech – PG County Fire/EMS Department
e. Public Information Officer – Communications and Public Engagement Office
f. Negotiator – PG County Police Department
g. Psychiatrist/Psychologist – Fort Washington Hospital/Inova Mount Vernon Hospital (Va)

2. Identify Incident Command Post Location
a. Detailed description of post location – The command post would be located at Accokeek Academy. It is the elementary/middle school located approximately 1 mile
away from the community. There is preservation/conservation area in between the school and the community.

3. Communication with the hostage taker (e.g., cell phone, bullhorn, email, etc.)
a. Detailed description of communication device – Communication with the host taker would be done via bullhorn or landline from PG County SWAT “IRON” Team.
