Opinion paper – Topic: Prosecution of HIPAA violations
For this assignment you will write a 5 paragraph opinion essay on the topic of prosecution practices for HIPAA violations. Concepts to consider when writing your paper: confidentiality, information privacy, malicious intent versus curiosity, scope of responsibility for individual actions.
The paper will need to follow the following outline for an opinion essay:
1. Introductory paragraph in which you state the topic and clearly state your opinion
2. A main body which consists of two paragraphs that each present a separate viewpoint supported by reasons and examples and one paragraph that presents the viewpoint that opposes you opinion with the reasons you feel it is an unconvincing viewpoint with examples. You will need to cite one to two references to support each viewpoint.
3. A concluding paragraph which restates your opinion using different wording from your introduction
4. Paper will be a Word document, formatted following the rules outlined in the APA Manual to include a title page, running head, and reference page. No abstract is needed for an opinion essay. Citations and references should follow APA rules. Spelling and grammar will be evaluated. Papers will be submitted via Safe Assign to check for plagiarism.
