Current Job: Behavioral assistant for children with developmental disabilities such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, Asperger’s, down syndrome, autism, etc.
Current job responsibilities:
• Provide structure and support to the youth and their families
• Assist the youth in engaging in appropriate therapeutic activities
• Minimize the youth’s identified behaviors through therapeutic interventions
• Act as a positive role model and assist in developing the child’s/youth’s ability to sustain self-directed appropriate behavior that will enable him/her to participate in community activities
• Work on goal and interventions that are identified in the treatment plan created by the assigned therapist
• Participate in identifying goals for the treatment plan
• Assist the youth in engaging in appropriate therapeutic activities in theISS plan
Reason for job and field: mother is bipolar and schizophrenic.
