The quality of the working fluid as it exists the 2 turbine- Civil Engineering

A 60 MW Rankine steam power cycle in Iceland uses reheat. The system is comprised of a single adiabatic pump, a boiler using geothermal energy, two adiabatic turbine stages and a condenser. Water as the working fluid, which enters the 1st turbine stage at 200 bar and 480oC, expands to 30 bar then is rerouted to the boiler. Steam enters the 2nd stage turbine at 30 bar 440oC and expands to 0.06 bar when it is directed to the condenser. Using turbine and pump isentropic efficiencies of 84% and assuming that the heat exchangers are isobaric calculate the quantities listed below. (Note you can neglect potential and kinetic energy changes.)

a) The rate of heat required from the geothermal source in kW.

b) The power input to the pump in kW.

c) The overall efficiency.

d) The quality of the working fluid as it exists the 2nd turbine.
