reasoning used in a landmark court decision or a major scientific discovery

In this 750- to 1,000-word essay, you will write about the reasoning used in a landmark court decision or a major scientific discovery. Instructions Choose a landmark court decision or a major scientific discovery to analyze in your essay. If you would like to write about a scientific discovery, choose one from the list provided in the Chapter 13 Exercise section of your text (Exercise IV, page 629). If you would like to write about a legal decision, choose from the following list of landmark U.S. Supreme Court decisions. Click the link below to review the list: Landmark Cases of the U.S. Supreme Court Research the case you’ve chosen and describe the process of reasoning (analogical or hypothetical) that led to the legal decision or scientific discovery. Then, evaluate the reasoning used. For a legal decision, be sure to analyze the argument according to the six principles described in the text. For a scientific discovery, analyze the hypothesis for adequacy, internal coherence, external consistency, and fruitfulness. Please focus on arguments that you can clearly identify as inductive.

Of the many theories and hypothesis Jonas Kepler thought to strive for the answer, there is one in particular that that at first was looked at an external consistency hypotheses. It then later developed more fruitful hypotheses. Kepler used analogical reasoning when he came to the hypothesis that Mars did not follow the same orbital path other planets he had observed and calculated. With his comparison with the calculations from other planets Mars did not have the same calculations other planets has with a circler orbit. It was then the testing continue to find the answer as to why the calculations were not correct.

According to Jonas Kepler he measured the sun distance from earth and developed the theory that every planet orbits around the sun in a circular motion. However when it comes to the calculations and mars is orbit around the sun does not compute with other planets and their circular motion. Therefore Kepler came up with the idea of oval motion for Mars. In his study he had to prove that his calculations are correct by using the arithmetic rules that follows geometry to prove is theory is correct. He did this by comparing the sun and Mars distance, with the distance of a perfect circle. Keeping in mind the mass of Mars and the sun’s mass by how long it take for mars to orbit the sun. Within that perfect circle calculation it was not making his calculations correct. He then used various postulates of geometry to compute what these distances would be, based upon the assumption that the orbit described a perfect circle. Kepler knew the length AG (the “eccentricity” of the Mars’ orbit) from his test that disproved “Vicarious Hypothesis” (keplersdiscovery.com,2018). It was later when he decided that Mars had an oval “perigee”
orbit. He found this through the comparison of perfect circular calculations and the observations of other planets orbits.
A person does not know the meaning of the occurrence that they’re experiencing; one must not turn its head away. We always want to find the answer of why this is occurring. Amos then turn to hypothetical reasoning, which we would come up with different ideas as to why something is occurring that we don’t quite understand. When using the four steps to this method one being the occurrence of the problem, formulating a hypothesis as to why the problem occurs. Third, drawing implications from the hypothesis and testing those implications. These four steps will help to determine the answers and solving ones questions.

When ones uses the hypothetical method there are certain step you need to take in order to gain the most efficient information of your hypothesis.
