Background:
In Australia incidents of ?far-right? activity appear to becoming more aggressive, overt and confrontational in nature. In early August a Melbourne man was arrested under terrorism charges linked with right-wing extremism (RWE). On August 14 members of the far-right group ?Party for Freedom? dressed as Muslims, interrupted a church service in Gosford, NSW claiming the church was assisting in a ?Muslim invasion?. This, in conjunction with the Reclaim Australia movement, online commentary and other incidents of far-right activity indicates that RWE may be increasing.
Task:
Given recent incidents of RWE activity in Victoria and NSW, provide an assessment on how likely it is that RWE activity will become evident in Western Australia in the next six (6) months. Specify regional and/or suburban areas where this activity is more likely to occur and why.
In this task you are not required to use peer reviewed sources exclusively. You can use media resources, media articles, websites, blogs, government sites and reports, formal risk reports, foreign language newspapers, case studies etc. The most important thing is that the source is current and credible.
