Explain the role concepts of reason and rationality encompass in Rawls’ theory of ‘justice as fairness’ and Sen’s idea of justice which entails “open impartiality?” Are these two perspectives different in any necessary respect on this issue, especially when it comes to particular question concerning extent to which self interest characterizes human behavior and degree to which its influence can and must be eliminated?
